The Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation’s mission is to lead, to educate, to uplift, to inspire and to empower women and children throughout the world. To further that mission, we are excited to offer select students the opportunity to join the inaugural class of the Oprah Winfrey Leaders Scholarship (“OWLS”) Program. Ms. Winfrey’s vision for the OWLS Program is to award scholarship grants to graduating high school students to help them pursue higher education at accredited U.S. colleges and universities.

Our goal is to lift up and support students who have demonstrated academic merit, the potential to excel, aptitude for leadership, commitment to service, and economic need. We know that transcripts and report cards never tell the whole story. We look forward to getting to know students through their personal video submissions and recommendations from you, their teachers, mentors, coaches, and school administrators, all of whom have witnessed their growth as a scholar, and as a future leader.
